There’s nothing that would make you happier than having a confident teen who can breathe again.

You see day in and day out how anxiety, OCD, tics or the trauma they experienced is taking a toll.  You know that it is worsening, and you can no longer watch your teen suffer. You might see your teen avoiding as a way of coping with their fears, whether it is everyday worries, an OCD or trauma related trigger, a phobia or social or health anxiety. You might observe your teen engaging in repetitive behaviors, and/or you may just notice how they are fixated on certain topics, as their thoughts take control over them. The more your teen tries to push away what is on their mind, the worries grow bigger. You have tried to talk to your teen about their worries, but it is not helping. You are realizing that you have hit a wall and that your teen needs professional help maneuvering through these anxiety related challenges.

You feel helpless and worried.

Your heart breaks knowing that they are so stuck in their head with worries that it impedes them being in the present moment and moving forward. While you know your teen is smart and likeable, you see how much anxiety is getting in the way.

I can help.

I help teens online & in-person who are having challenges with OCD, tics and anxiety. Teens I treat might also struggle with depression, self-esteem, identity, trauma and/or social challenges. Whether the anxiety is connected to OCD, life stressors or a trauma, social anxiety, body dysmorphia, body focused repetitive behaviors (eg. skin picking, pull hailing etc), test anxiety, PTSD, health related anxiety, panic disorder, selective mutism, specific phobia or generalized anxiety disorder, I help teens learn strategies to manage their anxiety using evidence-based therapy. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Habit Reversal Training, SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), Trauma Focused CBT and Prolonged Exposure as well as Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics and Tourette Syndrome (CBIT).  My down-to-earth, compassionate, calm, honest and empathic nature are often felt in our virtual or in-person space providing a place for comfort and validation. My teenage years, being a parent of 2 and experiences working in mental health clinics and middle and high schools have inspired my work with teens and parents.

I help teens gain an understanding of their challenges through explaining the treatment, giving recommendations, providing strategies to help them face their fears, identifying their values and supporting them to take steps to live their best life. When teens complete treatment, they often report decreased anxiety, OCD or trauma related symptoms, increased confidence, and strategies to manage their symptoms. Anxiety and/or OCD is no longer controlling their lives, and they and their parents finally feel a sense of relief.
